Partnering: Food, Rent and Furnishings [Partner Highlight - Norcross Co-Op]
Did you know that Norcross Co-Op is one of our ministry partners? Norcross Cooperative Ministry (NCM) is a non-profit, faith-based ministry that serves people by providing emergency assistance, which consist of food, clothing and financial assistance for rent, utilities and prescriptions.
So, how does furniture play a part in the story? Through our partnership, Norcross Co-Op can give those that they are helping an even greater step up by connecting them with us if they are in need of more than just rent/utility money, but also furnishings. IN THIS COVID-19 TIME, THEY ARE STILL SERVING AND SO ARE WE!
Read a story of one person helped recently through Norcross Co-Op:
Curtis, divorced, father of two, lost his job because his company filed Chapter 11. “Unemployment ran out and so did my family favors. This was a very difficult time because I was close to losing my apartment. I came to NCM not sure if they would be able to help. They assisted me with rent and utilities while I looked for employment, Leslie helped me construct a more effective resume and I landed my current job. Pastor Dean, the chaplain, called and prayed with me to keep me encouraged. The staff at NCM never made me feel ashamed of my situation. They were always positive and encouraging. They truly cared about me. It literally has been life changing.”
This is a great organization and we are blessed to partner with them in helping those most vulnerable to homelessness and hopelessness in our community! Check out their Facebook page for weekly updates and their immediate needs, especially with food donations.
[Partnerships are the way our ministry is able to serve more efficiently and effectively. When you give to FFM, whether furnishings, time or money, you are giving to many other organizations at the same time!]
