Partnerships are a foundational piece of our ministry and each one looks a little different. With some, they filter and refer families in need, with some they support us mainly with finances, and with some they faithfully send volunteers week after week. And with others, like Restore Life, it’s multi-faceted.
New opportunities to serve
2 families in a new "habitat"
Another organization we are partnering with is Habitat for Humanity. We are joining together to provide furniture to two families that Habitat recently built homes for in our very own community in Forsyth County. They received the keys to their homes on July 25th and we will deliver their furniture on July 31st.
From heart condition to motel to a real neighborhood.
Theresa* was living in an apartment with her three children when she began to feel ill. Her doctor found a life-threatening heart condition that needed immediate intervention. She had to take off a lot of time from work for her procedure and recovery. Before she was able to return to work she was let go from her job.
She's out of that motel for good!
We were blessed to make a delivery to another family in need through the Motel to Home program. The woman here, we will call her QA, moved to Atlanta from Macon after a job loss in search of more opportunity for herself and her children.
Deliveries en route...
In keeping with the statewide ”shelter in place” order, Fully Furnished Ministries has had limited activity in serving the community during the past seven weeks. But by God’s grace, we have served 11 families through instituting the Covid-19 guidelines we received from Good Samaritan Health Center of Gwinnett.
Partnering: Food, Rent and Furnishings [Partner Highlight - Norcross Co-Op]
Did you know that Norcross Co-Op is one of our ministry partners? Norcross Cooperative Ministry (NCM) is a non-profit, faith-based ministry that serves people by providing emergency assistance, which consist of food, clothing and financial assistance for rent, utilities and prescriptions.
A hard road from Haiti...with hurt and healing.
Nearly every Saturday that we go out and deliver furniture to families in need in our community, we deploy our Hearts Team to follow up after the delivery. They sit with the family, hear their stories, encourage them and pray for them, when its accepted. Our recipients tell us about challenges they have experienced that are unfathomable to many of us; from financial setbacks, loss of jobs or homes, loss of support systems, and even loss of family members or near-death situations.
Here’s one recent story from a volunteer from our team:
Victor Reed & Jill Snelling. [Volunteer Highlight!]
As good as new.
Our Restoration Team meets once a week to work on pieces that seem to be beyond repair or have severe blemishes. Our desire is to bless families with furnishings that show them they are valuable and deserve the best and this is one way we get to do just that! We’ve put together some of our recent “before and afters” for pieces that needed that extra love and care before delivery.
